Meet the Team

Alex Naylor

Alex comes with a strong background in treating children and gum disease. Graduating in 2004 and completing post graduate studies at The University of Melbourne she has extensive experience to help you get the smile you have always desired.

After living and working in the Goldfields for over 13 years she calls the red dirt city home and wanted to bring a locally family owned and operated clinic to the Goldfields. When she isn’t at work Alex likes to spend time with her beautiful family. She has 5 children three boys 8, 6 and 2 years old plus two girls 4yrs and a new born (2023).

Alex welcomes you and your family to come in and meet her family at GFD a purpose built state of the art practice here in Kalgoorlie.

Dr Matt Yoon

Matt graduated from UWA in 2012, he previously worked in Kalgoorlie when he graduated from university. Since leaving Kalgoorlie Matt has worked in Sydney and Perth, honing his skills in on implants and extractions. Being a pedantic dentist Matt loves creating beautiful smiles. He is your go to dentist if you want your smile designed by a master in the field of dentistry.

Matt loves spending time snowboarding and with his dog Sunny. Matt also spends plenty of time on the golf course a place where he can relax.

DR Sushrust Kishore

Raised in Kathmandu, Nepal, even during his teenage years Dr. Sush volunteered in local hospitals as well as remote villages as part of medical aid. He found out during these times that the ability to help people was his main motivation for becoming a dentist. Dentistry has allowed Dr. Sush, to combine three of his biggest interests: working with his hands, dental science and helping others. Known for his caring and laidback nature, Dr. Sush believes that healthy teeth promote a healthy life and having an opportunity to help people maintain their smile, relieve their pain or improving their oral health is the most rewarding part of his job.

Dr. Sush is constantly striving to be the best version of himself every day and has completed various courses in restorative, fixed/removable prosthesis as well as sedation so that he can provide the best dental service to his clients. In his free time, he enjoys hiking and spending time in the garden.

Dr Jonathan Harrington

Jon graduated with honours from the University of Cardiff in 2011. 
After working just outside Cardiff for a year he moved to Australia in 2012.
He initially worked in Queensland before moving to Perth in 2013.
He enjoys all aspects of General Dentistry with a focus on restorative yet minimally invasive treatment.

In his spare time he enjoys being active, going out for food and is a keen follower of most sports.

Dr Cham

Dr Cham is a compassionate, detail-oriented dentist treating patients from all walks of life.
His primary goal as a practitioner is to ensure that each of his patients is satisfied with their dental care.
Dr Cham speaks both English and Thai.
Originally from Thailand Dr Cham completed his dental degree at the University of Western Australia in 2017.
Prior to dentistry Dr Cham completed a Bachelor of Science with first class honours and worked as a microbiologist for many years.
Dr Cham keeps his practice up-to-date through continuing education initiavtives.

When he is not treating patients, Dr Cham enjoys cooking, snorkelling and bush walking.

Dr Alex Booth

Alex graduated with honours from Newcastle-upon-Tyne (UK) in 2017. She has since spent time in New Zealand before heading to Kalgoorlie. Alex is known by her patients for being gentle and understanding. She enjoys getting patients to a stage where they are comfortable with their teeth. Whilst confident in all aspects of general dentistry, her interests include aesthetic work and implants.

Outside of work Alex enjoys playing Xbox and eating ice cream.

Dr Liam Dury

Liam graduated from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne (UK) in 2015 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree. He has worked in a range of private practices in the UK and New Zealand since then. Liam’s gentle demeanor and friendly approach keep visits to the dentist as comfortable and worry-free as possible.  

He has a love for the technology and advanced skills that are developed in dentistry and is proud of what Goldfields Family Dental have to offer. Currently, Liam is studying on a postgraduate diploma in dental implantology. 

Outside of work you may find him relaxing at the gym or struggling up the climbing wall.

Melissa King

Melissa brings over 20 years experience working in the dental industry to GFD. She is an asset with her many years of knowledge to the already highly experienced team.

She has a special interest in treating children and making them feel special to help alleviate any anxieties they may have of the dentist. Melissa also has a keen interest in helping her older patients maintain good gum health, in turn helping prevent more dangerous systemic conditions such as heart disease.

She takes pride in making sure her patients are as comfortable as possible during treatment and they leave feeling confident they can maintain good dental health. 

Melissa is married with 2 beautiful children. She loves the outdoors;  hiking, walking and the beach, a good movie, going out for breakfast and spending time with her friends and family. 

Truc Luu

With 13 years experience Truc returns to Kalgoorlie after 12 years since she came to the goldfields as a fresh faced new graduate. In this time away, she has worked in many regional and metro settings.

She tutored Curtin’s undergraduate oral health therapy students for the past 5 years, before returning to Kalgoorlie to join our team. She is passionate about preventing and managing gum disease and treating children in a clinical setting. Her favourite past times include baking, cooking, camping and exploring the surrounding region with her partner.

Dorothy Okumu

Dorothy has recently relocated to Kalgoorlie from Perth where she spent her time living south of the river. Dorothy has been in the dental industry since 2018 and thrives on continuing professional development. Her love of dentistry extends to paediatric dental care, treatment of gum disease and cosmetic teeth whitening. 

She is an avid soccer player, loves a good book and enjoys being outdoors on her days off. 

Mackenzie Kagoro

Mackenzie graduated with a Bachelor of Science, Oral Health Therapy from Curtin University in Western Australia.

She is returning to Kalgoorlie her home town in which she was born and completed her schooling before moving to Perth to complete her studies.

She is passionate about all aspects of dentistry and particularly enjoys treating patients with gum disease and children. She loves taking care of her patient’s mouth’s through high quality dental care as well as education and motivation for prevention. Most of all, she enjoys getting to know the person behind the teeth and making sure they have a pleasant dental experience every time.

Through various continuous professional development courses, she keeps up-to-date with the latest advances in dentistry, enabling her to provide patients with the best treatment options.

Outside of work, she loves discovering new places to eat, going hiking and spending time with friends and family

Crystal Leech

Crystal has 13 years experience working in dental and loves to share all of her knowledge with her patients especially her little patients. Crystal as a mother herself, loves all aspects of pediatric dentistry to treat children.

Crystal is one of the leaders in out hygiene department treating patients with mild all the way to advanced gum disease. 

Mark Warman

Mark is a dental prosthetist which means he is a trained dental technician and clinician. Patients can see him directly for both dentures and mouthguard services. He can also make your new smile on-site at Goldfields Family Dental.

When Mark is not creating new smiles, he enjoys beach life with his rescue dog Pippi who is 7 and set to inherit his estate.

About GFD

Goldfields Family Dental is a purpose built Dental Clinic in the heart of Kalgoorlie. The practice is one shop back from the towns main intersection and next door to the NAB. The building was built in 1905 originally housing the commonwealth bank. To this date the building still has its 1900 character and remains a heritage listed building. Purchased by the Naylor family in 2019 they are working closely with a heritage adviser to ensure it keeps with the cities heritage look. 

The building now houses a purpose built state of the art dental practice, one of a kind in the Goldfields. This family friendly practice boasts large rooms for families and a separate parents retreat, children’s waiting area with a TV, games console, plenty of books and toys.
